Area Rug Cleaning

Special care for delicate and valuable rugs.

A patterned area rug on a hardwood floor

A hand-knotted wool or silk rug is not carpet, and cleaning it as though it were is how rugs get ruined. Natural dyes bleed, fringes fray and wool felts if the water is too hot or the pH is wrong.

Every rug is inspected and tested first, then cleaned by the method its construction and dyes call for, dried flat under controlled airflow, and groomed before it comes back to you.

  • Dye-bleed and fibre testing before cleaning
  • Wool, silk, cotton and synthetic rugs
  • Controlled flat drying to protect the shape
